One of the most frustrating things can be organizing a product launch and not having any way of testing it. Not only will you be flying blind whenever the product launches, you will be unable to give any potential affiliates a real example of what you're product is able to do. Although it is possible to test a product using a Google Adwords campaign, most of us are not necessarily willing to spend a lot of money in order to find if something is going to flop or not. Fortunately, you can test this to a limited extent with a targeted e-mail list. Putting one of these lists together is a relatively easy thing to do, especially if you follow the following steps.

The first thing that you need to do is make sure that your list is going to be targeted. You don't want to simply collect e-mail addresses from every corner of the Internet and then try to fit them into a product that they would not be interested in. The more targeted your list is, the better your numbers are going to be and the more attractive your product is going to be to your potential affiliates. If you try to promote your product to an untargeted list, you're going to get dismal results and nobody is going to want to promote your product for you. If, on the other hand, you're able to show that you promoted your product to a couple of hundred potential customers and received good results, people may be willing to promoted to their larger lists.

The easiest way for you to put one of these lists together is to start a viral marketing campaign that is specifically targeted towards whatever niche your product happens to be in. You can do this in a number of different ways. The first thing that you could try is writing a viral e-book that is directly related to whatever it is that you are offering. Make sure that the information that you provide is so compelling that people are going to want to pass it along to other individuals naturally. Don't be obscure whenever it comes to linking back to your website or squeeze page within the e-book. Make it as obvious as possible and you will have the most clicks for your efforts.

You may also want to try making some viral videos. Almost any product or service is going to lend itself well to videos that are placed on youtube.com. As with the e-book, however, you want to make sure that the videos are interesting enough that people are going to want to pass them along to their friends. You should also include a URL to your squeeze page at both the beginning and the end of the video.

Your landing page is also an important part of building a list quickly. Don't give people too many options for leaving the page. You should only offer the option of hitting the back button in order to escape it or filling out the form. Have an offer that is compelling enough on the squeeze page that people will want to sign up and confirm their subscription. If you put all of these things into practice, you would be surprised with how quickly your list will grow.
