Balance transfer fee
A balance transfer fee is a fee charged by creditors on a transfer of debt from one revolving credit account or credit card to another.
This fee is normally a percentage of the debt transferred, some offers have a maximum amount that is charge and a minimum amount that is charge. For example; ABC credit might offer 0% interest on balance transfers with 1% balance transfer fee, and set the minimum transfer fee at $10 with a maximum transfer fee amount of $99. Therefore if you transferred $5,000 you would pay the $50 for the balance transfer fee, but if you transferred $150 you would pay the minimum fee of $10.
Most of the major credit cards or creditors, don't charger a balance transfer fee, just make sure you read the fine print to make sure what exactly is detailed with the balance transfer.
