A broker is licensed individual in the business of assisting in arranging funding or negotiating contracts for a client but who does not loan the money himself, and also acts as an intermediary between a buyer and seller. Brokers usually charge a fee or receive a commission for their services.
A real estate broker is a licensed individual who acts as an intermediary between a seller and buyer and negotiates contracts in a real estate transaction. A broker who also acts as a seller/buyer becomes a principal party of the Real Estate transaction. A real estate brokerage firm can represent buyers/sellers by offering three (3) options regarding real estate transactions:
1. Single Agent
2. Transaction Broker
3. No-Brokerage Relationship
Another type of broker is a Mortgage Broker, which is an individual or company that charges a fee to bring borrowers and lenders together for the purpose of loan origination.
