A Certificate of Veteran Status is a document given to either Veterans or Reservists that qualifies them for some of the lower down payment loans insured by FHA or VA.

In order to qualify for this document you must be a veteran or reservist who has served for 90 days of continuous active duty (including training time), which may be obtained by sending DD form 214* to the local VA office with form 26-8261a.

*DD form 214 is commonly referred to as "Discharge Papers". NEVER SEND original by mail. You can make certified copies are your county court office.
