An investor is on who makes an investment, and in return seeks a profit. Generally the term is used for people and companies that regularly purchase equity or debt securities for financial gain in exchange for funding an expanding company. But the an investor is alos one who purchases real estate, currency, commodity derivatives, personal property, or other assets.

There are several types of Real Estate investors; some purchase land for development, other purchase real estate to rehab or update then turn a profit, and other purchase investment real estate for long term gains, such as rental properties.
